Danny Elfman was originally the frontman of art punk band Oingo Bongo, who had a hit with the title song to the movie Weird Science. Later he became better known as the guy who wrote the theme to The Simpsons, as well as composing soundtracks for many other popular TV shows and films.
The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo were formed as a musical theatre group in 1972 by Richard Elfman, before they became the influential new wave band known simply as Oingo Boingo, fronted by Richard's younger brother Danny. They were best known commercially for their hit song "Weird Science", from the film of the same name and their fourth album Dead Man's Party. Boingo broke up in 1995, but Danny Elfman was already well on his way to becoming a popular and acclaimed film composer, working closely with many famous film directors most notably Tim Burton. Elfman worked with Burton on films such as Beetlejuice (1988), Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990) and The Nightmare Before Christmas. He has scored extensively for The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives and Tales from the Crypt. In addition to this work he has scored many blockbuster movies with other directors including Scrooged (Richard Donner, 1988), Dick Tracy (Warren Beatty, 1990), Mission: Impossible (Brian De Palma, 1996), Men in Black I and II (Barry Sonnenfeld, 1997 & 2002) and Spider-Man I and II (Sam Raimi, 2002 & 2004). Elfman has been nominated for an Oscar three times without success; he has, however, won one Grammy and one Emmy.

【魔境梦游】是叶夫曼生平第十三度为提姆波顿的电影创作音乐，在片中叶夫曼的音乐就像是一座由古典乐、圣乐、电子乐、摇滚乐、实验音乐搭建而成的哥德音乐冒险游乐园，他以时而惊骇、时而阴柔的交响乐，高耸入云、弥漫诡谲氛围的圣乐合声演唱，清脆响亮的铃声，撼动情绪的鼓击声响，还有如叶夫曼最崇拜的电影音乐大师 Bernard Hermann 在为希区考克的惊悚片创作音乐时运用弦乐突如其来的急升、缓降，或是声响音量忽高忽低的走势来制造紧绷气氛的手法，为爱丽丝的冒险旅程带来云霄飞车般的影音快感。
